Santino is the sweetest boy! He adores people and is good around other dogs. He doesnt know his own size and will try to be a lap dog whenever the opportunity arises.
He currently shares his kennel with his best friend, Ernie the lurcher.
Santino walks well on the lead but can be strong when he sees something exciting so his new owner will need to be confident that they can handle his strength and help him work on his lead walking.
He is a typical lurcher in many ways - he LOVES a quick zoomie but would happily cuddle on the couch for hours after and he has a high pray drive. Due to this we will be looking for a home wihtout cats/small furry animanls about.
History
Santino came to us as a stray who was sadly never claimed.
Re-homing Criteria
Santino came to us as an unclaimed stray, with this being the case, even though he has a fantastic nature, we would not rehome him with young children in the house simply due to the unknown history. Also because of his typical breed traits, Santino would not be able to share his new home with cats or any other small furries.
This handsome chap would happily live with another dog, he has been great with every dog he has met here and he loves nothing more than zooming around our paddock with his canine friends! Santino absolutely adores people so someone who has the time to give hijm lots of company would be his perfect home. A fully secure garden is a must.
He is a big boy who does not know his size and although walks really well on the lead when he sees something exciting he can decide that he needs to investigate so his new owner would need to feel confident that they could handle his strength.
Santino is a firm favourite of the staff and volunteers due to his absolute lust for life, you cannot help but smile when this lad is around.
